Gravitation is a yaoi anime, meaning it focuses on a relationship between two men. The anime isn’t graphic, and the most you see between them is a shared kiss. The story follows Shindo Shuichi, a up-and-coming pop star, who is down on himself for not being able to finish his lyrics. He ends up running into Eiri Yuki, a famous novelist, who tells Shuichi that he has zero talent for writing. Shuichi pursues Yuki and falls in love with him, and Yuki isn’t an easy man to love.
This will always be one of my favorite anime because it demonstrates the deepest type of love, but it doesn’t idealize the relationship. Gravitation shows that love is hard work, and that it takes effort and dedication to make relationships work.
